An Open Letter to Free Japan Prayer Partners,
It is hard to believe that an entire year has passed since the Free Japan prayerwalking movement took place in March, 2004. Many wonderful things have occurred since our united prayers, focusing on Japan and it’s people, began last year. The Passion of the Christ, which pictures Jesus’ last 12 hours before His death on the cross, was seen by over a million Japanese. Japanese are interested in spiritual matters and many are making inquiries about who Jesus is. Japanese are also sharing their faith in Jesus with friends, family, and coworkers. Christians and mission groups from different backgrounds are finding new ways to work together to see God’s spiritual blessings poured out upon the Japanese in this generation. Pray for even more evidences of His work among us.
This month please consider participating in a Free Japan “anniversary walk” by returning to one of your 2004 prayerwalking locations and covering the same area again. Another idea is to take along someone new to prayerwalk with you. Japanese Christians and missionaries will enjoy the opportunity to pray together while walking through their church areas and/or their own neighborhoods. What a wonderful spring activity to be involved in! After sitting and enjoying a picnic under the cherry blossoms, prayerwalk around the park or area praying in soft voices for the people who have gathered. Remember - prayerwalkers are often seen but not heard. What looks like casual conversation among friends is actually quiet intercession (verbal conversations with God) on a deep spiritual level between prayerwalkers.
Continue to pray that God will keep the hearts of Christians in Japan and around the world focused on the spiritual needs of Japan using the Free Japan website. If you live outside of Japan we ask that you gather a group together and pray for Japan this month. (Please use the 31 day prayer guide available on this website.) Pray that all Japanese will understand how much Jesus loves them, and how He died and rose again – to offer them forgiveness and new life in Him. Pray that Psalm 107:13-15 (our Free Japan scripture emphasis) will become a reality for God’s beloved Japanese. “In their misery they cried out to the Lord, and He saved them from their troubles. He brought them out of their gloom and darkness and broke their chains. Let them give thanks to the Lord for His love and for the miracles He does for people.”
Thank God for all of His answers to our prayers! He alone is the Lord of Lords and King of Kings in this place!
